What are Microchips

Microchipping is an important part of owning a pet and is a legal requirement for cats and dogs in the UK. Microchips are the most effective way of reuniting lost pets with their owners. Unlike collars that can easily get lost or fall off microchips are permanently reside under the animals skin. Microchips are made from biocompatible glass, has its own unique number and its data is stored on a DEFRA approved database. Microchips come in a range of sizes to suit most domestic animal species.

What we use

Mid-size disposable microchips (10mm x 1.4mm) suitable for cats/kittens & dogs/puppies. 

Animal Microchips Database - this has a £24 one off fee to register the microchip

When to Microchip​

Animals can be microchipped from 6 weeks onwards however this can be size dependant. Smaller breeds may have to wait a little longer to be done safely.

• Microchipping- £10 per pet.

• Melatonin implants (prevent Cats season for 2 to 4 months)- £12 *please note the owner is to provide the implant*
